Both paths edit the same survey: writes carry a revision number and conflicts are rejected; the editor shows who else is editing. Nobody overwrites anybody.

The AI's permissions have a boundary, and you draw it.

The AI can

  • Read, create and edit surveys within the scopes you grant (8 scopes, granted individually)
  • Publish or unpublish once you grant the publish scope
  • Read masked responses and statistical summaries
  • Submit test responses; validation and simulation never persist

The AI cannot

  • Do anything outside the scopes you granted
  • Overwrite what you just changed in the browser: writes carry a revision and conflicts are rejected
  • See respondent IP or device details: masked on read
  • Exceed 30 writes or 10 publishes per minute

Quaflo is an online survey platform: web editor, respondent app, reports and shareable dashboards. It also ships with a built-in MCP server, so AI assistants can read and write your surveys directly. Both paths edit the same survey and you can switch at any time.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open protocol AI assistants use to call external services. An MCP survey platform exposes survey creation, validation, publishing and data access as MCP tools, so an assistant can operate it in natural language with no code.

Verified clients so far: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, Codex. Hosts with a connector UI connect via OAuth; config-file clients use an access token. The setup guide has step-by-step instructions for each client.

Three checks run before publishing: survey_validate applies 31 rules (empty titles, unreachable questions, broken jumps, missing references) with fix hints; survey_simulate runs answers through branches and quotas; survey_review_snapshot produces a human-readable snapshot to check question by question.

Permissions are the scopes you tick when creating a token or authorizing; there are 8 scopes, granted individually. Every write must carry the current revision and mismatches are rejected, so the AI never overwrites what you just changed in the browser. Responses are masked on read.
